Switching Over to Spring Decor...

I ran away last night to the craft store! It was so nice to wander the isles of Michael's all by myself. I think I spent about 2 hours there looking at EVERYTHING!! When I got home I started some of my "spring" crafting.

This is the wreath I made using faux flowers.

I am really not a faux flower person but these look pretty good and they will last longer in the cold spring air.

I also bought some cat grass at Petco for a modern centerpeice.

We have some new art displaying above the fireplace! This painting of Lily was my birthday present to James this year. Our friend Chris Rudert painted it. (contact me if you would like to commission a painting)

Even my office recieved a little spruce up!

Recognize the jewlery tree? I got it at Urban Outfitters!

And Luna got a new "Spring" haircut!!

Spring is in the Air...

I am definetly feeling that spring is just around the corner. As I look at inspirational websites/blogs my eyes have been drawn to all things light colored and floral.

One of the exciting new "springish" collections I am loving is Liberty of London that will soon be coming to Target. I first read about the launch over at Simply Stated. Here is a sneek peek at some of the Liberty of London items!

One of my other new finds is a website called Cath Kitson. They also have some very fun spring items!

For now I won't be running out to buy any of these, BUT I have been cleaning like a mad woman today. I think I will take down Valentines Day and add simple spring decorations. I will show you when I'm finished.

Forgotten Love of All Things Urban...

What was I thinking?? While growing up in Seattle I shopped at Urban Outfitters all the time! This past weekend I was lucky enough to visit this wonderful store!

Here are some of the beautiful and inspiring peices I saw in their "Apartment" section!!

I think all of these would look pretty good in one of those Solaris homes!! Don't you think?

Thanks Mom!!

I recieved a Valentine's Day package in the mail today from my Mom!

Inside was all of this beautiful fabric!!

I love all of the colors!

I think that my couch is going to get some new spring pillows!

She also made me this card from a picture of me when I was about 2 years old. I can't beleive how much it looks like Lily!
Thanks Mom!!
XOXOXOXO

Hearts!!

We are all geared up for Valentines Day! I have decorated the house with paper and felt hearts.

Paper hearts hang from the windows and felt heart garlands hang from the archway.

James brought home a beautiful orchid for me as an early Valentines gift!

There are even hearts in the kitchen window!

I made heart sugar cookies last night.

Lily just discovered them!

Luna watching me take pictures.

Chillum sleeping in the bedroom.

Here is the hat I made for James for his Valentines gift!! It turned out great!

And here are 2 of the scarves I have made!

The heart of a home...

I have this terrible problem of decorating homes that I don't even own yet. Like I mentioned last week, we have been talking about buying a home in Daybreak, Ut. We went to visit the Solaris Collection homes last weekend and we LOVED them!! For the first time in a year we looked at each other and knew things were finally making sence. Now all I have been doing is picturing my little family in one of those homes. Here are some pictures I found on Living Etc Magazines website that give me inspiration for our "maybe someday" kitchen in a Solaris home.

I like this minimal kitchen where you see the food not the cabinets.
This kitchen again is minimal with an airy feel. Plus I love the wood table with modern chairs!
I think this one is my favorite! It has a playful vibe and I love how all of the different colors pop without seeming cluttered.

Loving Amy...

I am loving all things Amy Butler right now.

I borrowed Midwest Modern from a friend and was very happy looking though it's pages.

There are many of the same colors in my house!

I can definetly see my self toting this bag!

For my birthday, my friend Colleen gave me this book!

And for Christmas James got me this Software!!

Now if Lily could please sleep through the hum of my sewing machine, then I might be able to get started on some sewing projects!! But for now I am content just drooling over the possibilities.

My Little Artist!!

This morning we woke up and decided to get messy right away! Plus we need to get started on our handmade Valentines too!

We bought Lily washable paints yesterday at Target.

She was really good at "trying" to keep the paint on the paper.

I loved that Lily wanted to use different colors on certain parts of the paper (and her body).

Here is a picture of one of her masterpieces!!

Now to figure out what to make with these wonderful pieces of art.

Dave Malone

I wanted to share with you today another painter that I really like. His name is Dave Malone and he is right here in Utah.

There is something that about the colors he uses that makes me really happy.

I have yet to meet him or even go to see his work in person.

I keep one of his postcards on my fridge and admire it everyday!

Enjoy!

Is Solaris for us?

James and I have been kicking around the idea to move out to Daybreak, Ut. There are some new homes being built out there called the Solaris Collection. I found a good article about them here too. I have to say...they are pretty cool!
