Finishing up a Few Projects...

Today I am finishing up a few projects. As I have said before I had a few things on my knitting needles lately. Here are a few pictures of the finished work!

Dress turned shirt once I figured out it was going to be HUGE!

This is called the "French Market Bag". It is my first felting project which I am still not sure how much I like the end result. I think if I make another one I will make it ALOT bigger.

And finally a baby hat for my friend's new baby!
So this is what I have been up to lately. What about you? What have you been crafting?

A Smile for a Rainy Day!

We are all home sick today. But despite the runny noses and coughing I thought I would share a little video that makes me smile!

Crafty Mama's...

My friends are some crafty Mama's!!
Today we got together to celebrate Lily's birthday and they had each made her a homemade gift! How cool are they!?!

Colleen made an Owl pillow (with blue eyes!) which has a little secret pocket in the back!

Jessica made these adorable crochet flower hair clips!

And Sonya made Lily a blue Tutu with a birthday crown!

I am so happy to have found such wonderful friends here in Utah. They make me smile everyday. And it is definitely a bonus that they are crafty like me!

Love you guys!

Danger!

As you know, I am a knitting maniac at the moment. I have many projects on my needles and more waiting to be started. I wanted to make Lily a toy for her birthday but never got around to it.

Everytime I go into my favorite knitting shop. I stand in front of a display of little monsters and drool over them! Finally I chose a pattern which I am commited to.
Meet Frances!
She is a sweet little monster.
Here are some of her friends. All of the patterns for these cute little monsters can be puchased from "Danger Crafts".
These green ones make me happy too!

Lily's Big Day!

Lily's birthday was great! She was in a good mood, and wasn't sick like last year!!
She loved all of the food and decoartions.
She showed off her kitty to her friends.
She waited until the end of the song to blow out her candles!
She was the bell of the ball!
She got bonked on the head.

Her family was here to play.
And so were her friends!

The birthday girl!
The first day of spring is a great day for a party!
The aftermath...
And the leftovers with finger marks!

These are just a few of my favorite pictures from the big day! I hope you liked them!

Time flies...

My baby turns 2 tomorrow. I can't believe how fast time flies. I remember exactly what I was doing the day before she was born. I remember every moment of her birth. And I remember ever smile since she was born. Lily is truely the most amazing thing that has ever happend to me.

I have spent about an hour this morning looking through pictures of my sweet girl. I have to admit she is my favorite subject for my photos. I will spare you ALL of my favorites. But here are a few of the best from the first few days of Lily's life.

Day 1

Day 3

Day 4

Day 6

Day 11

Isn't she amazing? We will be celebrating her birthday with a small party tomorrow. I have alot of baking and cooking to do today. I will post pictures from her party sometime this weekend.

I hope that you have a wonderful weekend!

Sneak Peek!!

Here is a sneak peek at my new earrings for my Etsy site!

I have yet to add them to my etsy page, but I plan on doing it tonight. I promise!! It has been kind of a crazy day around here. Lily woke up feeling sick and slept in until 11am!! I have been trying to get things done around the house and things ready for her 2nd bithday (March 20th!!). Lily requires some extra attention when she doesn't feel good.

She got out of bed and discovered that I was wrapping her presents!!

It's really hard to explain to a 2 year old that we have to wait to open them!

I'm not sure she beleived me that waiting for her party was the right thing to do.

Silly kid!

Park City Crafts...

Oh my goodness, did I ever need that weekend away!! My friends and I crafted up a storm in Park City. We also sat around watching movies, drinking champagne and eating really good food!

Here are a few of my finished projects!

2 Hats, made as birthday gifts...

And a paper butterfly art piece for Lily's room. I got inspiration from Ali Edwards blog for this project. I used the Martha Stewart Classic Butterfly Punch to cut out the peices and then used double sided foam tape to attach them. It only took me about 5 mins to do this and now I want to make more!!

I also finally made some new jewlery, BUT I haven't taken pictures of them yet. I promise to show you tomorrow!
I hope you had as much fun as I did this weekend!

Mountain Bound...

Today at 4pm I am running away for the weekend! Some of my friends and I are going to Park city, Ut for a "Girls" weekend! We are planning on sleeping in, eating yummy food, drinking champagne and knitting up a storm!

I am also going to try really hard to put my knitting needles down in order to work on some new jewlery designs for my esty shop.

The weather report calls for snow the whole weekend!! So I am sure we will be cozy by the fireplace. But if we do end up leaving I would love to check out The Spotted Frog which is a bookstore/wine bar!! Two of my favorite things under one roof!!

I will be bringing my camera along this weekend and I will post pictures when I return! Have a great weekend!

Been Knittin'...

Knitting has currently taken over my world. I have discovered that I truely love this new craft of mine BUT I find it hard to do much else at the same time. I have a few projects on my needles this week and will be posting pictures when they are finished. But in the mean time please take a look at this cute pattern that I am going to start next!

I found this pattern free at Susan B. Anderson's blog!

This is all I have to report for today. Enjoy!

knit and purls...

I am definetly feeling the knitting vibe lately. So much that when we traveled to St. George recently, I made James stop on the way so I could buy yarn!

I am totally in love with my local knitting store, Blazing Needles! And I have also become a fan of Cascade brand yarn.
Here are a few of my finished projects:

French Press Coffee Cozy

Striped Green Hat

Brown Hat with Green Trim (this picture makes the trim look yellow)

I have also joined an online knitting community called Ravelry. There are tons of free patterns and it's a great place for help on projects.

I really like knitting so far. And I am sure that I will be blogging more about it. I hope you like what I have made! James thinks I should sell them on Etsy. What do you think?
